Long story short, we have moved to Toppenish, Washington and setting our shop back up. It will be a slow process, due to the advanced age of the house and myself (two years older). The computer running XP died so updated (ha-ha) to WIN 10, while most other work is done on a Mac. Actually, there are several of them. One for the office, one for graphics, another for scanning... and so on.
Looks like it will be a soft re-opening. Some things are working, others are not. Some suppliers are no longer in business, some materials were left behind, others lost, and holy crap, that's way too expensive!! New local suppliers need to be found, else chain-up for a ride over the pass.
So, we will start by announcing the move and pending re-opening, adding product availability over the next few weeks and months. While is storage we did work on some interesting new items, but we will announce them once they are certain.

1-10-10 - HEAVY-DUTY HO CORRUGATOIN

We have failed repeatedly to come up with tooling for HO corrugation. We are still working on it. Meanwhile several manufacturers are using our S-scale tooling on HO scale widths so we are making that available.

10/4/07 - MORE LASERWOOD PLANKING

A customer called and asked about four foot wide boardwalk. We should have pointed out that there are several strips of that width on the random cut panels. Instead, we custom-cut a 4 ft. width panel, one thing lead to another, and these are now available across the board. Use them for boardwalks and fencing.

Sheets are 3-3/4" x 7" with in N-scale, otherwise 6" x 12", with 1/4"-1/2" border.

8/16/07 - NEW N-SCALE LASERWOOD PLANKING

So, do we have it in N-scale? Sure do. And it looks great. All the detail of the larger scales squeezed down into N-scale! Sheets are 3-3/4" x 7" with 1/4"-1/2" border.

3/12/07 - NEW LASERWOOD PLANKING

We are adding generic WOOD DECK PLANKING/SIDING to our LaserWood line. Not just some ordinary planking either. These come with nailhead detail, that a model builder would spend hours if he/she were to emboss them by hand.

The planking comes in 6", 8", 12" and random widths and are cut to 8 foot lengths, random lengths (4', 6', 10' and 12'), or left plain without cuts. Use them for decking, fencing, siding, platforms or what have you. Available in HO, S and O. Sheets are 6" x 12" with 1/4"-1/2" border.

12-01-06 PRICE ADJUSTMENTS

Unfortunately the the price of our chain has gone up with our costs rising nearly 50 percent in some cases we are told by the (new) management due to the cost of metal and the fact that they had not adjusted their price for eight years.

9-27-06 LASERWOOD STAIR STRINGERS ADDED

We know this is nuts but we found we needed some steeper stair stringers for a project with an 8 inch rise. So like we did with the 7 inch (we'll now call standard), we're offering them in three tread lengths: 9, 10 or 11 inches.

Note that we have increased the quanities to six in each package and adjusted the price for uniformities sake. We will be doing the same for the standard packages too with the price actually going down!

9-27-06 NEW SLATE COLOR

Unfortunately our supplier of paper has announced the discontinue of one of our Slate Shingle stock colors. We bought all the had, several years worth, but fear the other colors might go too. Well, we'll deal with that when it happens.
Meanwhile, they mistakenly sent us the wrong color that were going to send back but then thought we might as well add it to our line. It's a very light color that can be stained, painted or weathered as the modeler desires.

5-11-06 PRICE ADJUSTMENTS

Due to wear and tear on our embossing machines and the escalating price of metal we have adjusted the price of our wider corrugated and rib seam.

5-1-06 VERY BUSY!

We are busy updating all our laser files to run on the new machine and creating new ones. All the EE kits are back on line as are most of our laser-cut items. We are also working on the long awaited limited edition kit no. 12, The National Belle Mine. And we are working on two new kits for C. C. Crow, The NP Hotel at Easton and the Durango Roundhouse in O scale.

1-12-06 NEW LASER COMING

We are retiring our old laser after 13 years of great service. It was one of the first in the hobby! During the transition certain laser-cut items will be in short supply. We've marked them as "LOW" on the price/availability list.

03-25-05 SEAMED TAR PAPER ADDED

We are adding Seamed Tar Paper to our product line in two sizes, for smaller scales and larger. These printed stocks represent a composite roll roofing which has been applied and tarred along the seams. We are doing them in the same four colors as our regular tar paper, plus old silver.

Seams on the small version measure 0.40" by 1.60".
Packaged two 6-3/6" by 3-7/8" sheets per pack.

11-10-04 MORE BAD NEWS

The cost of our white metal alloy has nearly doubled in price. We are forced to adjust our prices accordingly. This effects our HO scale details sets, O scale figures and parts. We are holding the prices of our Evening Express kits for the time being. We've noticed increases in brass tubing, wire and chain but are holding the price there too. We don't know about our metal roofing/siding- We can only take so much bad news at one time...

11-10-04 LASERWOOD STAIR STRINGERS ADDED

Hey, there is some good news! We forgot to tell you we're adding a bunch of laser cut wooden stair stringers to our line.
Originally, we had just one, part #7204, a typical single-story, 7" rise by 10" run available only in O scale. Why should they have all the fun?
Not only have we done them in HO and S, but we're doing them in three different slopes (9, 10 and 11 inch runs on 7 inch rises) and two-story lengths as well. You should be able to find the right one for your model now.

06-05-04 NEW EVENING EXPRESS KITS

We are adding two new Evening Express kits, #615 The Ore Tipple and #616 The Mine Headframe, shortly (July 1st). These are the first two new Builders In Scale kits under C. C. Crow. Okay, we cheated a bit and borrowed them from previous limited run kits- to help us with the transition. The pilot models will be on display at the 2004 NMRA National Train Show, July 9-11, here in Seattle.

10-28-03 Weathering Chalks and Brick Mortar Mix

Our popular weathering chalks #107 are now back in supply.
We've also added two new Brick Mortar Mixes, #110 and #111, Light Grey and Dark Grey. Mix with a little water, apply and wipe off the excess.

08-25-03 New Kits!

We are working on three new kits, four if you count the 72 ft. Brick DRG&W Roundhouse in Sn3 we are helping C. C. Crow with. We've chosen to do The National Belle Mine as our next Limited Edition in HO, and we're adding two new smaller kits in the same Colorado mining vein, an ore tipple, and a mine headframe, to our Evening Express Line of HO scale kits. These should hit pay dirt this fall and/or winter. Details to be announced shortly.

We've added Part #1115 RA-3 Replacement Motor Arm (3), and adjusted the price of RM-2 and RL-3, from $1.98 to $1.49.

04-16-03 TAR PAPER

Tar Paper is back in stock. There are four drab (but exciting) colors to choose from. Faded Gray, Weathered Red, Faded Green, and Dusty Blue, all printed on Black for a proto-realistic look.

03-12-03 SWITCHMASTER

Finally, we have made favorable arrangements with Hankscraft, our motor supplier, to make these famous switch machines available again. We will be filling our reserve back orders first. Again, we thank everyone for being so patient with us.

02-20-03 FOILS ARRIVE

Foil stocks for our metal Ribbed Seam and Corrugated roofing/siding material has arrived. We now offer such in 4', 6', 8', 10' and 12' widths in HO, S and O. We plan to offer Corrugated in HO sometime soon.
