Here are some progress photos of our next Limited Edition kit.

KIT NO. 12 HO - THE NATIONAL BELLE MINE

We are building a 20" x 24" diorama out of 1-1/2" polystyrene insulating foam board. The diorama splits in two horizontally mid-elevation so we can more easily transport it to shows. The foam is easily cut with a box knife and quickly assembled with a hot glue gun. Spackle is applied to fill any holes and soften the knife edges. The rough terrain is then painted with a light brown flat latex wall paint. Sand is sprinkled on and fixed with diluted matte medium as is a final layer of same plus real dirt, yellow and red/orange, gathered from the actual mine site in Colorado. A little Woodland Scenics ground foam and some foilage will finish it up.
